As opposed to lazy and unimaginative, the next Call of Duty game will be “creative” and “ambitious” according to Sledgehammer Games who gave a recent talk about their upcoming game at the ongoing Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Sledgehammer’s Glen Schofield says that the next Call of Duty is the “most ambitious, most creative game we’ve ever made.”

Apparently, those in attendance were treated to a brief glimpse of an “impressive” character model for the game, though no known pictures have made their way to the internet.

Sledgehammer was announced as the next developers on deck to handle Call of Duty as Activision moves to a three year rotation between Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer. Given Sledgehammer’s involvement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, many have already come to the conclusion that the next Call of Duty will indeed be Modern Warfare 4.

Call of Duty fans likely have a few more weeks to go before Activision is ready to unveil the next Call of Duty game in full. The last few years has seen Activision revealing the game in May, just ahead of E3.
