Call of Duty WW2 was revealed today via Live Stream and Sledgehammer Games took the stage in the UK to reveal what turned out to be mostly information about the campaign, along with a few teases regarding multiplayer and the Nazi Zombies mode.
Taking the series back to WW2, Call of Duty moves outside of the realm of fiction, and studio heads Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield took multiple opportunities to express the care with which they’ve handled the material. Having been so long since a WW2 story has been told in Call of Duty, the team seems to be laser focused on bringing an authentic experience in terms of audio/visual design and story telling to a new generation who may not know much about the second world war.
“The story we’re telling is unlike anything anything that we’ve tackled before. It’s such an amazing journey of common everyday people who became heroes. We want to respect this great generation of solider, tell a realistic story set in a true inflection point in human history,” says Schofield.
