This year definitely appears to be one for the city-builders. Only yesterday, we brought to your attention some in-game footage for Cities XXL. Now, there’s more in-game footage for another city-building game: Cities Skylines. These two titles will definitely be the two biggest heavyweights when it comes to city-building this year, barring any surprise releases by others.

In the video that Colossal Order, the developers of the game, have produced, they give us a few looks at the in-game engine at its current configuration as well as their philosophy behind the game. Summarily, for it to be a fun and creative experience for the player. Cities Skylines, like most Paradox Interactive games, has a great emphasis on community content and contributions and thus, there will be plenty of content to play with when it does release. Don’t forget to register for news updates to get a free in-game Japanese Garden!

Cities Skylines was originally touted for release some time in the first quarter of 2015 for PCs, but appear to have amended their statement to merely 2015. Look forward to more Cities Skylines coverage as we will be going through some of the devblogs and dev videos to get a better idea of what we can look forward to. Check back often!
