Crysis 3 will be on par with early Xbox 720 and PS4 offerings

Crytek, a developer well known for their attention to detail and prowess in creating jaw dropping visuals in the Crysis series, has thrown down the gauntlet for next-gen launch titles. In a recent interview, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli says that Crysis 3 will be on par with launch titles for the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4.

Speaking to CVG in a recent interview, Yerli explains that they’ve hit their limit with current gen offerings, but doesn’t see other developers doing much more with next-gen tech at launch.

“I actually think people will be astonished that next gen launch titles from other companies might not be much different from Crysis 3,” according to Yerli.

As for Crytek’s next-gen offerings, Yerli says that his company will once again be looking to use the hardware to the fullest. “Crytek’s projects generally will be way above what we’ve achieved on the existing consoles,” said the CEO about developing on the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4.
