The official release date of Elite Dangerous has been announced by Frontier Developments to be December 16th of this year for windows with it coming out on Mac OS X 3 months after. With the game only having releasing phase 3 of the premium beta not too long ago, you can expect that the current build of the game will be pretty similar to the “final” version of the game.
Of course, I say “final” because, as the following video illustrates, the release is only the first step for this game. There are many future plans in making Elite Dangerous an even more immersive game which includes seamlessly landing on planets, being able to explore your ship from a first person perspective, being able to explore space stations from a first person perspective, performing space walks to fix parts of your ship and just so much more. If Frontier Developments manages to do everything that they want to do, Elite Dangerous will turn out to be a game to remember.
