Final Fantasy 15 is going to be a very big game when it finally launches later this year, with the game’s storied development cycle involving the devs taking extra time to get the series back on the right track. While we’ve gotten some snippets regarding what the game is like overall, we’re now getting more information regarding how the overall game is structured.

Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata recently spoke with Famitsu regarding the layout of the game, revealing that there will be 15 chapters in total. However, how the game plays out will not be static from start to finish, as he revealed that the first part will be more open world and the second half will be more linear. He said this was done to please both current audiences and hardcore Final Fantasy fans alike, allowing for more variety at first before focusing in on the plot as the game goes on.

It was also revealed that the overall gameplay time for the game is quite lengthy, as just completing the main story without side quests will take between 40 and 50 hours. He also said that the game is about 90% completed, with the recent delay being used to work on the previously-discussed day one patch.

Final Fantasy 15 will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29th.
