The Nintendo Switch was officially revealed to be coming on March 3 during the much awaited presentation earlier tonight. During that showcase, it was stated that pre-orders for the Switch were going to be starting in Japan on January 21, but nothing was mentioned for the rest of the world. However, now the first retailer to have pre-orders go up has done so and in only a few minutes they have evidently sold out.
For those looking to pre-order the Nintendo Switch, you definitely want to keep an eye on Walmart’s website. The listing for the Switch went up just a few minutes ago and in no time they already sold out.
This is no big surprise after we saw how the NES Classic Edition sold out everywhere in seconds, with Walmart being one of the worst culprits with that.
This could be a case where Walmart is going to put up pre-orders in waves though, so as we said above definitely keep checking to see if they go up again. Also as a tip, check the website from desktop, the mobile website, and the mobile app, as sometimes you will have better luck on one versus the other.
Hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come like with the NES Classic and the early amiibo, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for details on others as they come out as well.
