Some lucky members of the media have been able to watch 28 minutes of Star Wars: Rogue One already. Their impressions are very positive so far.

As reported by Star Wars Underworld, select members of the media went to Skywalker ranch to view 28 minutes of Star Wars: Rogue One. Most of the opinions shared are favorable.

Rogue One is directed by Gareth Edwards and the director’s previous movie was Godzilla 2014. That movie was criticized by some due to its lack of action as Godzilla himself hardly appeared in the movie.

It sounds like Rogue One won’t suffer the same problems as Godzilla 2014. The impressions given from those that saw the first 28 minutes of the film say it’s full of terrific action and is sure to blow away lots of fans.

Many of them say that the action is gritty and one of the critics say it puts the “war” in Star Wars. Gareth Edwards did say in the past that the movie is more grounded than other movies in the franchise. This is because it focuses on normal human characters as opposed to Jedi and Sith with Force powers.

During the build-up to the movie, some people were also concerned about its quality due to the many re-shoots. A critic said that this shouldn’t matter as the 28 minutes that was shown were really awesome.

In terms of characters, many say that K2-SO will steal the show. He has been advertised to be the comic relief so he might be the favorite for many people. Star Wars droids are always popular as BB-8 was a standout in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The movie itself comes out on December 16th, 2016 in North America. Like last year, Disney is making sure spoilers won’t leak out so reviews won’t be online until a few days before that.
