In this weeks update of the PlayStation network, PlayStation plus subscribers will soon receive access to the closed beta of God Of War: Ascension multiplayer.

The beta features the Desert of Lost Souls (eight player) and the Forum of Hercules (four player) maps, and the choice to align with either Ares or Zeus. The modes the beta includes are Favor of the gods, (Deathmatch) Team favor of the gods, (Team Deathmatch) and a capture the flag variant.

Sony Santa Monica has put together a God of War beta page that features tips to become a better multiplayer competitor in God of War Ascension, as well as some answers to frequently asked questions about the game.

The overall user criticism from the beta players has been very positive for the most part, I personally thought it was a blast from the matches I have gotten into. The full version of God Of War Ascension will be available March 12, 2013.
