Godzilla is rampaging onto the PS3 later this year according to the latest news coming out of Japan.
According to Famitsu, Bandai Namco is bringing the legendary Godzilla to the PS3. The game is set to be released sometime this Winter. Considering how popular Godzilla is worldwide, there’s a good chance this won’t be just a Japanese-only title. The latest movie is evidence of this as it has earned over $477 million at the box office.
In terms of the actual game, you can control Godzilla himself. The behemoth can destroy buildings with kicks and his long tail. It’s possible Godzilla could even go toe-to-toe with other monsters in the game too, but these details have not been shared yet. Development for this Godzilla game is only at 40 percent so far. Hopefully more details are to be shared closer to the game’s release date.
The only recent Godzilla game released was a mobile one based on the 2014 film. It was free to play, but had poor controls and Godzilla himself wasn’t even playable. The last batch of Godzilla games released before the aforementioned mobile version was during the PS2/Xbox era. It’s been a long time since fans have played a decent game starring the legendary monster.
