It’s time to revisit Los Santos, but this time on your cell phone. If you can’t get enough San Andreas in Grand Theft Auto V at home, Rockstar Games has you covered. Today, the company announced GTA: San Andreas, the highly successful PlayStation 2 title, will be coming to a cell phone near you next month. So if you’re tired of training Chop in the GTA V iFruit app, take a trip back to the early 90’s and play the game that put Los Santos on the map.

With fully remastered graphics, including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette and enhanced chatacter and car models, Rockstar claims this will be the best-looking version of GTA: San Andreas yet. The game will also features brand new touch controls and a revamped checkpoint system making progression much easier.

GTA: San Andreas will be available next month with full controller support (including the iOS controller for iOS 7), and will be on select iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle and Windows Mobile devices. Rockstar will have more details in the coming weeks.

This release is nothing of a surprise, considering GTA 3 and Vice City have come out on mobile platforms, but I feel San Andreas was the biggest and best game in the PS2-era series and I can’t to go back to Grove Street with CJ and crew.
