Halo Infinite Unlikely To Have A Battle Royale Mode

In an era dominated by the likes of Fortnite and PUBG, it’s inevitable that when a multiplayer shooter is announced, fans ask whether it will include a battle royale mode of its own. Well, if you were wondering the same about Halo Infinite, then you might not want to get your hopes up, as developer 343 Industries seems doesn’t seem to keen on the matter.

The question came up during a recent live stream on the Halo Mixer channel, which prompted Jeff Easterling, a writer at 343 to say:

“I’ll tell you right now, the only BR we’re interested in is Battle Rifle. The original BR. So, calm yourself.”

At face value, it’s hard not to look at this statement and conclude that 343 Industries isn’t too keen on the idea of a battle royale mode in Halo Infinite.  This is the first statement made by an employee on the matter, after all. However, based on the language, it’s still possible that this was a statement made in jest and doesn’t actually hold too much weight.

In the end, it’s important to keep in mind that the game is still a ways off from release. In fact, the only material we have of Halo Infinite is the trailer Microsoft showed during E3. As such, there’s always the possibility that the mode will show up if 343 determines it to be a viable alternative mode and not just a fad that will die off in a year or two.

But, really, is that the question fans should be asking? If anything, the real question is whether teabagging will make it in. Halo popularized it, but people hate it now apparently.
