Horizon Zero Dawn Logo Has Been Changed Ahead of Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn’s anticipated sequel is inching closer, and in preparation for this, a new update has been released by Guerilla Games amending the Horizon Zero Dawn logo and gameplay.

As well as the framerate upgrade, there has been a small but noticeable tweak to the Horizon Zero Dawn logo. Keen fans have noticed that there is now a line break under the word Horizon, with the Roman numeral for ‘1’ in the middle, suggesting that the game is now part of a series instead of a standalone title. Perhaps this suggests a third installation may come in the future…

This will help new players to know which game to play first, and makes a consistent brand between Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, as the latter has Roman numerals for two in its logo.

More Horizon Forbidden West & Zero Dawn Details

Horizon Zero Dawn is the latest game in a quickly growing list to get optimization updates for the next generation of consoles.

Since the game came out on the PC and PlayStation 5, there have already been some updates to improve the quality on the stronger consoles. The update Sony have just released allows the game to run at 60fps on the PlayStation 5, which is a pleasant change compared to the previous 30fps. This graphic upgrade will surely pump up the popularity of the game and get fans excited for the sequel.

Sony’s new update also fixes some performance issues that arose when running Horizon Zero Dawn in backwards compatibility mode on a PlayStation 5 console. The Graphics Mode option for backwards compatibility mode was also removed from the visuals menu. These tweaks help the overall performance of the game and allow play without a hitch!

Update 1.53 is available and ready to download now.

Horizon Zero Dawn is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC. Horizon Forbidden West will be released for PlayStation 4 and 5 in February 2022.
