Kingdom Hearts 3 Devs Helping With Final Fantasy 7 Remake

by Damian Seeto

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a big project that some of the developers from Kingdom Hearts 3 are helping out.

This all stems from information published in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine (via DualShockers). Quite a lot of good new information about Final Fantasy 7 Remake was revealed.

Since the game utilizes Unreal Engine 4, some technical help has been given by the team working on Kingdom Hearts 3. Both games utilize Unreal Engine 4 and not the game engine in Final Fantasy XV. The two teams will also collaborate more in the future since they use the same engine.

Some other information was revealed about the game too. The team knows exactly how many parts of the game they want to release, but won’t be revealing the number yet. People will be happy to know that parts of Midgar will be explorable. It’s not just a linear experience from the sounds of things.

The characters of Biggs, Wedge and Jesse will be more fleshed out in the Remake too. This is thanks to the multi-part nature of the game. Finally, they mentioned the Japanese voice cast will mostly be the same people that voiced in Advent Children. It’s possible this could be the same for the Western release too.
