Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue is the next game in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, which looks to be bigger and better even than the previous HD collections. We learned earlier this morning that the game was delayed in Japan and now the game has also been delayed in the US, with it coming a little after the Japanese release.
Sony’s pre-TGS presentation gave us a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 pretty early, which led to the disappointing news that the game was delayed to January 12 in Japan. We figured the US version likely was delayed as well, and now we have full confirmation of that.
The longer version of the trailer that was shown during Sony’s conference was released in Japanese a little after the show ended, but now Square Enix has released the English version of the trailer as well that confirmed the delay.
According to this trailer, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue will be releasing exclusively for PS4 in the US on January 24. That means it will be coming 12 days after the Japanese release, unlike the simultaneous worldwide release we’re seeing with Final Fantasy XV.
In addition to this news, we also got a look at the updated box art as well, which you can see on the right.
