Level-5 has been keeping busy with Yo-Kai Watch and the just-announced Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, but the beloved developer has promised much more to come and that includes the announcement of a sequel to one of their most popular series.
The news was revealed by Level-5’s President Akihiro Hino in a conversation with the Japanese website 4Gamer. Hino mentions that he can’t give out precise details at this time, but a variety of titles based on brand new ideas and a long-awaited sequel are in the cards and will be revealed in 2016.
While the sequel to a “very popular series” of theirs could be a variety of things, I’d personally love for them to bring back Dark Cloud for a third installment. I remember back when Dark Cloud 3 had a release date of TBA 2005 before it just ended up disappearing from all conversation, so Level-5 should definitely get on that.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom was announced at PlayStation Experience this month and is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4. An official release date has not been given for the game at this time.
