Clans in the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be completely separate from Call of Duty: Ghosts. A brand new app, the Advanced Warfare Call of Duty app is currently in development at Beachhead Studio and clan functionality is planned to launch alongside the game on November 3rd.
The big news here isn’t that clans are returning in Advanced Warfare, the Clan Wars functionality in Call of Duty: Ghosts wasn’t half bad. It looks like the big, new feature is that clans will have cross network functionality. These “Cross-Network Clans” can have players on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
For clans that are already just on Xbox or PlayStation, you won’t need to do anything specific to be ready for Clan Wars, your clan will be transitioned automatically, according to the official Call of Duty Blog.
However, if you do have members that are playing across both the PlayStation and Xbox networks, the Clan Leader must select a network of choice in order to properly transition the clan to the new game. After selecting the network of choice, this will reserve the Clan Name, Tag, and Emblem. On September 25th, Clan Leaders from Call of Duty: Ghosts will be able to select their network of choice at a URL that has yet to be announced.
If everything goes properly for your clan, a snapshot of the existing roster will be moved over to the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare app.
