Square Enix has now released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 and 2.8 at the Jump Festa happening in Japan right now.
The first half of the trailer looks at the prologue for Kingdom Hearts 2.8. The graphics have improved a lot as the cutscenes look amazing. The trailer is in Japanese, but there are English subtitles.
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 is a remake of several Kingdom Hearts games released in the past. This game might be worth playing if you have never played the series before. The games have been super popular since the first one came out on the PS2 back in 2002. Square Enix just said 2.8 is “now in development”.
The bigger news is some new footage from Kingdom Hearts 3. The third game’s footage starts from 3:35 onward. The gameplay footage shows more of the combat system. It’s different from the footage that Square Enix showed at D23 last month.
At the end of the trailer, Square Enix again just mentions Kingdom Hearts 3 is “now in development” for PS4 and Xbox One. Sadly there is no indication of a release date in sight. It’s looking likely the game might not be out until 2017 sometime since Final Fantasy XV occupies 2016.
