It looks like even more new Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games will be revealed this week, according to Xbox Boss Phil Spencer. While hammering Spencer’s Twitter, asking what games are coming to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility and when they’ll be announced, fans were given a response that indicates new announcements are on the horizon.

Spencer said, “Looks like you should hear some news this week.” Interestingly enough, the question that Spencer fielded did ask about Rockstar Games’ popular Red Dead Redemption. It’s unclear whether Spencer was saying that fans would hear news about Red Dead Redemption for Xbox One, or just a new batch of announcements in general.

Since announcing Xbox One Backwards Compatibility at E3 2015, the feature has proven to be popular with console owners. However, only those who are enrolled in the Xbox One Preview Program are able to use backwards compatibility at the moment. The feature is set to roll-out to all Xbox One owners later this year.

There is currently a healthy list of titles for the Xbox One that are backwards compatible. Fans will understandably be excited if Red Dead Redemption is included in that list. Another big one on the wishlist is for older Call of Duty games, unfortunately Microsoft’s recent showing at Gamescom didn’t reveal Activision as one of the publishers who had committed to the program.

Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One has been a boon for console sales. Phil Spencer recently cited June sales numbers for the console that saw a significant year on year jump to be the proof.
