The first year of the Nintendo NX console could be very huge. The company wants to bring out big hitters such as new Mario and Pokemon video games.
As reported by MCV, sources close to Nintendo tell them that the Nintendo NX console will be getting new Mario and Pokemon video games within six months of its release in March 2017. This means both games should be out by September 2017.
The reason Nintendo is doing this is because they want the console to be a big success early on. The source says Nintendo wants to avoid the slow starts that the Wii U and 3DS consoles had when they first launched several years ago.
Not to mention there is also the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which is set to be a launch title. Three AAA games in the same year is huge for Nintendo. Pokemon is sure to be successful thanks to the series’ resurgence due to Pokemon Go.
The NX needs to be successful since the Wii U was kind of a bust. After the Wii sold 100 million consoles worldwide, the Wii U only managed to attract 13 million units. 2017 is sure to be a big year for Nintendo fans.
