Persona 5 Royal available for Switch and PC!? Sounds like a match made in heaven. Though it is just an accidental listing, the prospect of playing Persona 5 Royal on a Switch or even the new Steam Deck sounds like the perfect travel companion for any flight or round trip.
For those of you who don’t know, Persona 5 Royal is an enhanced edition of Persona 5. With Persona 5 Royal, there are extensive additions to the original game. Some of those additions are a new party member named Kasumi, an entirely new school semester, a massive new area called Kichijoji, as well as new weapons, enemies, and new armor. Persona 5 is already a massive game and Persona 5 Royal adds even more hours to the 100+ hour journey.
Atlus-O-Weenie is an annual Halloween costume contest that the creators of the Persona franchise host every year. Lovers of Atlus games everywhere are challenged to cosplay as their favorite characters for a chance to win one of six prize packs. Though it has since been removed from the original website, @Wario64 on Twitter posted a screenshot of one of the prizes of the costume contest being a Switch, PlayStation 4, or PC digital code of Persona 5 Royal.

In response to their error, Atlus West tweeted, “If you saw that typo on the prizes, no you didn’t.” Fans within the comments have taken this blunder with grace, but still demand that Persona 5 Royal actually make it to Switch and PC. Apparently, this accidental listing of Persona 5 Royal for Switch and PC could potentially be a thing in the not-so-far future.
Since Persona 5 Strikers, the latest Persona game set half a year after the events of Persona 5 Royal with a more action RPG flair, is already available on both Nintendo Switch and PC, it’s not a stretch to presume that Persona 5 Royal for the Switch and PC is in the works. The portability of such a massive game would invite even more gamers to give Persona a shot and encourage others to see the story through to the end.
If you like Persona 5 Royal and are waiting for it to come to Switch and PC, you may want to check out Atlus’s newest game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (though it, too, is only available on PlayStation 4 for now), Neo: The World Ends with You, or even Lost Judgement. All of these games have a high school student, slice-of-life aesthetic to them that make for solid Persona 5 Royal stand-ins.
Persona 5 Royal is available now on PlayStation 4.
