Sony’s PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will see free DLC in the form of two new characters after release.  Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk will be the first two characters introduced as downloadable content.   The two new characters are said to be arriving free to all, for the first two weeks after they are available in early 2013.

“That may sound a little tricky, so let me be clear: once Kat and Emmett are finished, we’ll put them up for download. They’ll be totally free for two weeks. The only limit is that you have a two-week window to claim the characters. Once you have Kat and Emmett, they are yours forever. That may sound like a lot to remember, so don’t worry, we’ll be back closer to their release to remind you of all these details,” said Seth Killian on the PlayStation Blog.

Will Sony be making a habit of releasing new characters into their upcoming brawler through DLC in 2013 and beyond?  It doesn’t sound like a case of content being finished in advance and held back for DLC, but we’ll have to wait and see, what the future holds for this cross-play title.  The game finally arrives on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on November 20th.  And remember, the PlayStation 3 version of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale comes with a free copy of the game for the PlayStation Vita.
