Sony has officially presented via PlayStation Blog the new limited edition slim PS4 Gold and Silver, ending weeks of rumors in which the Gold model had been spotted in some stores ahead of its official release. The United States will receive the PS4 Gold this Friday June 9th, while Europe will receive on June 28th the PS4 Gold and a new Silver model, which so far is exclusive to the European market.
PS4 slim is the only version of the console which will receive this metalic makeover, leaving PS4 Pro out of the promotion once again. In North America, the PS4 Gold will come with 1 Tb of HDD storage, at a limited-time promotional price of $249.99 USD (MSRP) / $329.99 CAD (MSRP). While the Silver model has not been announced for the North American market, it will probably be released at a later date, following the precedent of the PS4 Glacier White.
In European countries, PS4 Gold and Silver will only be available with 500Gb, with the price depending on each retailer. In case you already own a PS4 console, remember that you will also be able to buy the special edition Gold and Silver Dual Shock 4 controllers separately.
Both PS4 Gold and Silver will join the rest of slim PS4 models currently available, including the classic Jet Black, and the recently released Glacier White.
PS4 Gold will launch in North America on June 9th, while the Gold and Silver models will launch in Europe on June 28th.
