Pokemon is enjoying one of its most popular years ever, which is very fitting considering it is the series’ 20th anniversary. While this is mostly due to the phenomenon that has been Pokemon Go, the handheld games are still huge and their latest monthly distribution is now upon us.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise, The Pokemon Company has been giving away one free Pokemon each month through event distributions. These have ranged from being done through online or through codes given in store, and this month’s is definitely on the easier side.
From now through September 24, you can get the mythical Victini through Mystery Gift online. This Level 100 Victini is a Psychic/Fire type that comes with the special ability Victory Star. On the moveset side, Victini comes with Incinerate, Quick Attack, Endure, and Confusion.
Previously, Victini could only be acquired in Black and White by those that had gotten a Liberty Pass, but now anybody with X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire can easily get it through Mystery Gift.
Simply fire up your copy of any of the games and choose Mystery Gift on the main menu. Then choose “Receive Gift” and open the communication channel, followed by selecting “Get Via Internet.” After getting the Victini, start your game up and enter any Pokemon Center to get your Victini from the delivery girl.
