UPDATE:Â It is back online now.
Various reports have begun coming up that PSN is down, but the problems seem to be a bit random and intermittent. The official PSN status page reports that PSN is “intermittently available” indicating that many users are facing issues while others are doing fine. The official Ask PlayStation twitter account has made a few announcements, including confirming the current problems.
PS4 users may experience issues when connecting to PSN. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
The official tweet reads “We know that some users are experiencing issues signing into PSN – engineers are investigating. We’ll keep you posted.” Other responses have indicated that PSN users might have luck getting onto the service by powering down their console and router, waiting a while, and bringing everything back up.
The current official status reads “PS4 users may experience issues when connecting to PSN. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.” This also seems to hint that PS3 users are currently unaffected by the outage.
This is only the latest outage for the PSN service, the most recent taking place on Super Bowl Sunday, causing major disruption to PlayStation fans. The current issue is at least only intermittent, so some people are able to get on, unlikely many of the other outages recently. We’ll keep an eye on the problem and keep this pot updated as further information develops.
