Rockstar Games finally announced Red Dead Redemption 2 earlier this morning, confirming what everyone had been waiting to hear for a long time now. The game is set to launch in the Fall of 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though we won’t be getting the full details on the game until the trailer releases this Thursday.
However, Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser did issue a statement on the game, where he said “With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world. We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we’ve learned making games.”
The developer is no stranger to delivering massive worlds packed to the brim with content, with Grand Theft Auto 5 being the current benchmark for open-world games in general. Seeing as it will be around 7 years since the next game releases compared to when the original Red Dead Redemption launched, one can only imagine all of the improvements that have been made in the meantime.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the Fall of 2017. Be sure to check back here Thursday at 11 AM ET for the game’s debut trailer.
