Ewan McGregor might make a cameo in Star Wars: Episode 8 by reprising his role as Obi Wan Kenobi. Obviously he will be appearing as a Force Ghost.
The new rumor was posted by Kristian Harloff from Schmoes Know and Collider Jedi Council. He tweeted out: “Grain of salt: hearing that Ewan Mcgregor in talks to play Obi Force ghost in Episode 8.”
This rumor is not ludicrous since McGregor already had a cameo in Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. His voice could be heard when Rey was getting visions by holding Anakin/Luke Skywalker’s old lightsaber.
Not to mention Obi Wan Kenobi could always give advice to Luke Skywalker. If McGregor is cast, they will have to make him look like Alec Guinness since Obi Wan Kenobi died as an old man.
Other characters that are returning to Star Wars: Episode 8 are Captain Phasma, General Hux, Poe Dameron Rey and Finn. Chewbacca, Admiral Ackbar, Luke Skywalker and General Leia are also expected to return as well along with Kylo Ren.
No other characters have been confirmed for the new film, but we do know that Disney wants a new female character and Benicio Del Toro has been cast in an unspecified role.
