Gamers looking forward to the swashbuckling adventures that await them in Ubisoft’s upcoming pirate game Skull & Bones will have to wait a while longer before getting to play the game. But this isn’t something new to those waiting for the game’s release.
It was recently announced on the official Skull & Bones Twitter page that the game’s release has been delayed once again and that it won’t appear at this year’s E3. According to the statement, this delay is “what’s needed to make Skull & Bones as awesome as it can be!”
Those following the game’s development probably remember that it was first revealed during Ubisoft’s 2017 E3 press conference and was originally slated for release in 2018. Last year, Ubisoft revealed more about the game, including gameplay, during E3 2018, but the release of the game was delayed to 2019. Now, according to an Ubisoft earnings report, the game won’t be released until after the company’s 2019-2020 fiscal year, meaning that it won’t be released until April 2020 at the earliest.
Skull & Bones is currently being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. When it does eventually come out, it will aim to give players a customizable, open world experience that will satisfy all fans of pirate media.
