Sleeping Dogs’ successor, Triad Wars, was briefly discussed last year, but we’ve heard little on the title since. That is, until now. United Front is nearly ready to lift the veil on this “PC online game”, as stated by Community Manager James Baldwin. The full reveal will take place this Monday, September 22nd.
For those hoping for a direct follow-up to Sleeping Dogs, I have some unfortunate news. Triad Wars is “based in the Sleeping Dogs universe”, but it will not be considered a sequel. I’m sure we can expect a large dosage of martial arts and John Woo-style gunplay, though. Regardless, the developer is “extremely excited” to finally show off their latest collaboration with Square Enix. If rumors are to be believed, this new online game will be free-to-play.
Following the reveal, the team behind Triad Wars will be holding a Reddit AMA at 12 PM PST on Tuesday, September 23rd. This will undoubtedly bring more details to light once the community is given the opportunity to press the devs for more than they divulge in the official announcement.
