Update: It looks like Sony will indeed be offering a $10 discount for those who already pre-ordered The Last of Us before the price drop.
Original Story: Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us: Remastered might be one of the most anticipated next-gen remasters with the original being a multi-award winning masterpiece praised throughout the industry. Now news that there was a price drop in the upcoming title is tainted by fans who are being punished for pre-ordering too soon.
“REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERS”
On the news that the price dropped in MSRP for The Last Of Us: Remastered, Sony updated the Playstation store to reflect the $10 drop to $49.99. As soon as that occurred fans who have already pre-ordered it were hoping to get their money back or at least $10 credit on their PSN account but it seems Sony is not allowing any of that to happen.
At the bottom of the pre-order screen it clearly states;”YOU MAY NOT CANCEL A PRE-ORDER AT ANY TIME AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERS, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS.” bold, caps lock and all. So you know they are serious.
I guess it is down to the savvy customer who waits for pre-orders to expire, or pre-order too early and get shafted. I am sure stores like Amazon will allow for the refund but most stores don’t take out until the item ships. Hopefully Sony will make good on their fans and offer something to those who pre-ordered early, otherwise this may become a larger issue than they hoped for.
UPDATE: Yoshida has confirmed $10 back for everyone who has pre-ordered The Last Us: Remastered on Playstation 4.
