The release date is getting closer and closer for Sledgehammer Games’ highly anticipated release of Call of Duty WWII.  While they’ve given us a nice look at the multiplayer portion of the game through the closed beta that happened earlier this summer, they’ve begun to roll-out a handful of trailers that introduces us to the squad in Call of Duty WWII that you’ll be playing with in the single player campaign part of the game.

Private Ronald “Red” Daniels

Private Daniels is described as a young recruit in the United States Infantry Division.  His first experience in combat is on the infamous D-Day, where U.S. forces landed along a 50-mile stretch of a heavily fortified French Coastline on the beaches of Normandy, France.  Where many soldiers died in the bloody battle, Daniels takes up with his squad to fight across European theaters of war in iconic battle locations in the game.

Lieutenant Joseph Turner

Lieutenant Turner is the leader of the squad due to his years of military experience and leadership skills.  He’ll be the commanding officer in the Call of Duty WWII campaign.

Private Robert Zussman

Private Zussman is Red’s best friend in the squad and in the trailer is described as a soldier with a warrior spirit and a friend that is fiercely loyal to his friends.   Zussman looks to play a major role in the Call of Duty WWII campaign.

Sergeant William Pierson

Sergeant Pierson is described as a by the book, ‘tough as nails’ character who never backs down.  Pierson is a Veteran of the North African Campaign who enlisted in 1926 with the U.S. Army after enlisting at the age of 16 under a false identity.  Pierson’s character is also probably the most recognizable as he’s played by Josh Duhamel.

Will Call of Duty WWII Campaign Be a Worthy Entry?

From the trailers that we’ve seen from Activision’s Call of Duty WWII it looks to be a huge shift for the series that’s seen a number of futuristic titles recently.  Our impressions of the recent beta were largely positive, but we’re gonna have to wait until November to find out if Sledgehammer Games’ take on WWII is a worthy entry in the series that has strong roots in the era.  Fans have been clamoring for Activision to bring back “boots on the ground” action to the series which this game promises to do.

Call of Duty WWII Release Date

Call of Duty: WWII is slated for release on November 3rd for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
