Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is on pace to become the biggest opening weekend in Box Office history as pre-order ticket sales are through the roof.

When tickets for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens came out in mid-October, people snapped up tickets to the early sessions rather quickly. Now even more information has come out on how much money pre-order tickets have earned so far.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the movie has already made over $50 million in pre-order ticket sales alone. This is impressive because there is still four more weeks until the movie comes out. This is a new record in regards to pre-order sales.

Some movies don’t even make $50 million in their opening weekends and The Force Awakens has earned that much a month before it’s even out in the cinema. There is a good chance it can break the opening weekend record set by Jurassic World earlier this year. The dinosaur pic roared to a massive $210 million opening weekend.

Movies in December usually don’t have high opening weekends, but Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens might buck that trend. The highest opening weekend in December belong to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey which earned around $84 million in its opening weekend back in 2012.
