EA and DICE has now posted several new details for the Drop Zone mode in Star Wars Battlefront.
The official Star Wars Battlefront website posted several new information on this multiplayer mode. It is one of many game modes that you can play in the upcoming beta in early October.
In Drop Zone, there will be a total of 16 players on the map with 8 on each team. It is being described as a “King of the Hill” style of mode as players have to take control of five pods that drop on the map. When the pods open, some Power Pickups will be available.
Matches only last for 10 minutes, but the Power Pickups will make the gameplay interesting. They didn’t specify what types of perks they will give, but they hint it will be worth the risk of opening them up.
Another thing that was noted about the gameplay is that this mode forces players to be constantly on the move. It has been a design tactic to try and encourage “campers” to move around more.
Players will be able to play Drop Zone when the Star Wars Battlefront beta hits sometime this October. The full game itself comes out on November 17th for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
