Microsoft’s second Forza game in as many years, Forza Horizon 2 is set to arrive later this month, and the company’s getting ready to give potential customers a taste of the racer by allowing Xbox Live Gold subscribers to play Forza Motorsport 5 in its entirety from Thursday, September 4th through Sunday, September 7th.

During this time, Forza Motorsport 5 will feature special in-game challenges, a unique multiclass endurance race, and earn limited edition badges for Forza 5 profiles.  When the promotion ends, players can of course purchase the racer, and all achievements and gamerscores earned will carry over.

Alongside the Forza 5 Free Test Drive, Xbox Live members can also qualify for a sweepstakes in which Microsoft will send a winner for an all-expenses paid trip to a Forza racing class in Arizona.

The Forza Motorsport 5 free trial will begin at 12:01 AM PDT on September 4th.
