Trump’s Legal Team Just Filed A Massive Appeal To Toss His Conviction, And The Strategy Is Aggressive

111 pages of pure legal fury unleashed.

President Donald Trump’s lawyers have sent in a big appeal in the case that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg brought against him. They turned in the 111-page document to New York Supreme Court’s Appellate Division late Monday night. The appeal asks the court to throw out the guilty verdict and get rid of what the filing calls “the most politically charged prosecution in our Nation’s history.”

Fox News Digital got a copy of the full appeal. It shows that Robert J. Giuffra Jr. from Sullivan & Cromwell is now the lawyer representing Trump in this case. Back in May 2025, Trump was found guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records in the first degree. This happened after a trial that went on for six weeks in New York, even though Trump had said he was not guilty to all the charges.

Someone speaking for Trump’s legal team said that “President Trump’s legal team filed a powerhouse appeal in the Manhattan DA’s Witch Hunt, as the President continues his fight to put an end to the Radical Democrat Lawfare once and for all.” The person also said that “the Supreme Court’s historic decision on Immunity, the Federal and New York State Constitutions, and other established legal precedent mandate that this meritless hoax be immediately overturned and dismissed.”

This Appeal Could Change Everything About The Case

Right now, the case is not moving forward until 2029. This long break gives Trump’s lawyers plenty of time to go through the appeals process while he works as president. The guilty verdict was about allegations involving business records and payments, but Trump has always said he did nothing wrong.

The legal team made it very clear what they think about this case. They believe the Supreme Court’s ruling on immunity gives strong protection for what a president does while in office. As Trump deals with different legal and political issues, people have been talking about his relationships with important allies, including what he recently said about his relationship with Elon Musk

Robert J. Giuffra Jr. is now in charge of defending Trump in this appeal. He has handled many complicated legal cases before. His law firm Sullivan & Cromwell is well known for this kind of work. The fact that the filing is 111 pages long shows they are challenging every part of the conviction.

The person speaking for Trump wrapped things up by saying “President Trump will keep defeating Democrat weaponization at every turn as he focused on his singular mission to Make America Great Again.” They stressed that Trump is still focused on doing his job as president while his lawyers take care of the legal work. At the same time, Trump recently said some things about certain groups who supported him that have gotten people talking.
