In a time where paid DLC and microtransactions are common, Ubisoft promises The Crew will actually be getting free content after launch.
Ubisoft released a new video for The Crew where they speak with the game’s Creative Director Julian Gerighty. One of the things Gerighty promised is that he wants to keep players engaged by providing them with “content after launch” Not only will this content be launched after The Crew’s release, he promises it will be regular and for free too.
However, The Crew is not a game without paid microtransactions. The game allows you to purchase performance parts by using your own money. Paying with your own money is optional though. You can choose to earn more parts for your car simply play playing through the game like a normal person.
Whatever the free content is for The Crew is yet to be determined. It’s a good way to keep players engaged with the game that’s for sure. Some gamers these days rush through games quickly and trade them in the very same week. The free content post launch should prevent some gamers from doing that.
The Crew releases November 11th in North America and November 14th in Europe for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
