The voice for Major Zero in the older MGS games dislikes the fact that David Hayter was replaced as the role of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The voice for Major Zero (Jim Paddock) was recently interviewed by YouTube’s YongYea to give his opinions on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

First of all, Paddock said Konami offered him an “insulting offer” to reprise his role as Major Zero in the new game. The character will be portrayed by someone else, but the role is said not be that big.

Paddock then gave his opinion on David Hayter’s departure in the series as well. He said Hayter getting replaced is “ridiculous” and “it’s insane“.

He praised Kiefer Sutherland as an actor but wondered where the loyalty is. Hayter had been voicing Solid Snake/Big Boss ever since 1998.

Hideo Kojima made the decision to recast Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sutherland has been praised by many people including Hayter, although many fans are still saddened by the decision.

At E3 2015, it was hinted that Solid Snake will be in the game although he is a child. It’s probably unlikely Hayter’s gruff voice will be suitable for a young child.
