What happened to this woman after joking about wine in the airport Amex Lounge is wild

Airport lounges are a nice treat for travelers who have premium credit cards. You can sit down, eat some snacks, and have a drink before your flight. But a woman on TikTok just learned that joking about drinking in the lounge can get you kicked off your flight.

According to Bro Bible, a TikTok user named Toni posted a video that now has more than 15,000 views. In the video, she and her friend Emilio are at the gate, but a JetBlue worker won’t let them get on the plane. The whole thing started because Emilio made a joke about their time in the airport lounge.

Toni says that Emilio mentioned they had been drinking wine in the lounge while waiting for their delayed flight. He was just making a casual comment, but it ended up causing a huge problem. What happened to this woman after joking about wine in the airport Amex Lounge is wild because that one joke meant neither of them could board their flight.

In the video, Emilio tells the worker he’s willing to take a breathalyzer test to prove he’s not drunk. He asks what was so bad about what he said. The JetBlue employee compares his comment to someone joking about having a bomb in a federal building. The worker tells them that nobody who seems drunk is allowed to fly. She says that because Emilio admitted to drinking, they have to take that seriously and can’t let him on the plane.

It turns out the Federal Aviation Administration really does ban drunk people from flying. Airlines have to follow these rules, but here’s the catch. There’s no official test to check if someone is too drunk to fly. The airline workers just have to make their best guess based on how someone acts, moves, or talks.

That means even a joke about drinking can be enough for them to say no. This is not the first time airline safety rules have led to unexpected situations for passengers, as an American Airlines flight recently made an emergency landing for a surprising reason.

If you get kicked off a flight for appearing drunk, you’re in trouble. You’ll probably lose your ticket and won’t get your money back. The airline might even ban you from flying with them again. You can complain and try to fight it, but courts usually side with the airlines on this stuff.

People who watched the video had a lot to say about it. One person wrote, “THEN WHY SELL IT TO US IS WHAT I WOULD HAVE SAID TO HER.” Another comment said, “I get their busy right now and stressed, but that’s crazy.”

Someone else added, “The guard is trying to compute it all.” The stress on airline workers has been a topic of discussion recently, especially after air traffic controllers faced consequences for actions during a government shutdown
