UPDATE 3: Issues have popped up again today

UPDATE 2: The issues seem to have been resolved as of this morning.

UPDATE: It seems that instead of getting better, the Xbox Live Status issues have only gotten worse, with problems now being reported in core services, such as creating new accounts being shut down. Hopefully Microsoft can work out the problems soon.

The Xbox Live status is currently set to limited as various features are broken across Xbox One, and various apps. The main element that seems to be down involves the Xbox Game Store, with various users reporting problems buying new games, or downloading even launching ones that they bought previously.

“Are you having a tough time launching previously purchased content or purchasing new content,” reads the status message from Microsoft. “Xbox members? We’re aware of the issue and our team is working hard to fix things as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience! We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.”

It seems like anything that requires a license to launch, outside of using a physical disc, might be having issues at the moment. It is recommended that you simply avoid buying new games for a bit, and those that you have already bought might have trouble launching. This problem is isolated to the Xbox One for the moment, so Xbox 360 gamers should be OK. Accessing the store from other devices might be a problem as well though, so don’t load up the Xbox app on Windows 10 or anything.

Microsoft is well aware of the issue, so hopefully they get it worked out as soon as possible. Keep checking back for updates as they develop.
