Earlier this year, it was announced that a followup to 2010’s Xenoblade Chronicles will be releasing soon. Now that the release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is less than a month away, Nintendo had a Nintendo Direct stream today (November 7) discussing the game. Among the introductions of characters and explanations of mechanics, a number of DLCs were announced.
A day-one DLC was announced during the stream which will allow players in English-speaking territories to hear the original Japanese voice-acting with English subtitles rather than hearing the English voice-acting, if they should so choose. Aside from this, the game’s Expansion Pass was announced, which is available for pre-purchase starting today for $29.99. This Expansion Pass includes a lot more DLCs, which will drop periodically throughout 2018. These DLCs and their prospective release dates are as follows:
- Support Items For Your Journey – Starting December 2017
- New Quests for the Main Game – Starting January 2018
- New Rare Blade – Spring 2018
- New Challenge Battle Mode – Summer 2018
- A Brand-New Story and Adventure! – Autumn 2018
Also announced was a new DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This DLC contains a new quest, which, upon completion, will allow players to have Link wear the costume that Rex wears in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This DLC becomes available on Thursday, November 9.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 comes out on December 1 for the Nintendo Switch and is currently available for pre-order.
