‘You are not respecting me as a woman’: Miss Universe organizer’s treatment of contestant backfires in the worst way

Even queens have limits to their patience.

The man who runs Miss Universe is dealing with major problems after a video of him arguing with a contestant spread all over social media. Nawat Itsaragrisil was filmed scolding Miss Mexico at an event in Thailand, the country hosting this year’s competition.

According to Sky News, the problem started when Fatima Bosch didn’t share posts about Thailand on her social media accounts. People who were there said Nawat called her a “dumbhead” while yelling at her, but he says that’s not true.

When he was going off on her, Bosch fired back at him and said: “You are not respecting me as a woman.” Right after that, Nawat told security to come over. Bosch got up and left the room, and a bunch of other contestants went with her to show they had her back. Even the current Miss Universe winner joined them.

Things got pretty messy for the pageant leader

Raul Rocha, a businessman from Mexico who leads the Miss Universe organization, didn’t hold back when talking about what happened. He said Nawat’s actions were “public aggression” and “serious abuse” against the contestant.

Nawat got in front of reporters to talk about the whole mess. He said he actually used the word “damage” and not “dumbhead,” and told everyone to go watch the video themselves. But he did say he was sorry about it. “This issue has dragged me down to this point. I understand and I apologize,” he explained.

Reporters kept pushing him about it, and that’s when Nawat got upset and started crying. “I am a human who can feel hurt,” he said to them. He also told the contestants he was sorry, saying: “If anyone was affected and not comfortable, it happened, I am so sorry. It’s passed. Okay? Are you happy?”

Even though people want him to quit, Nawat told Sky News he’s not leaving his job. The drama has taken over everything about the Miss Universe competition, and there are still more events coming up before the big finale on November 21. The Miss Universe winner’s walkout in solidarity with Miss Mexico has become one of the biggest moments people are talking about in pageant history.

This whole thing has gotten people talking about how the people running pageants treat the women competing and who really has the power in these competitions. The video keeps getting shared online, so the drama isn’t going away anytime soon as the pageant keeps going. In other celebrity news, an actress recently made headlines with her Katy Perry Halloween costume.
