It appears that retailers have already begun listing Rockstar’s GTA V for PC. The world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, recently listed the open world game for PC and has begun taking pre-orders for the title.
Retailers do traditionally get information ahead of anyone else in regards to what’s coming and when in the world of video games, so there could be some credibility to this recent listing. However, this could also just be a mistake on the part of the website. They may just be assuming that Rockstar will deliver a PC version some time after the release of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of GTA 5.
Rockstar themselves haven’t said anything about a PC version of GTA V. They’ve said they are focused only on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, and will share more details when the time comes. So far, 2013 hasn’t held any new news about the open-world title. Fans have yet to hear an official release date, outside of the Spring window, but Rockstar is expected to announce these details later this month as well as reveal the game’s official box art.
This listing shouldn’t be taken as a confirmation of the PC version of GTA V, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it turns out to be true.
