Another case where children are caught up in horrifying situations right where they were supposed to feel safe. Following the news of a worker in a therapy center who was accused of kicking a 5-year-old autistic patient, another bizarre story has come to light, where a school director is arrested for encouraging students to hit each other in her children’s fight club.
Yes, according to Fox News, it happened right inside The Delta Institute for the Developing Brain and the Engage program in Arkansas, which has a primary motive to help autistic children. However, the director, who is also said to be the owner, was involved in this disturbing situation, serving as a ‘ringleader.’ Per KAIT, the 51-year-old Mary Tracy Morrison pleaded guilty to four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, as well as one count of permitting child abuse.
From the outlets, it looks like her abuse was exposed when a mother complained to the authorities, when she came to know that her teenage son was not only mentally but also physically abused at the institute. This led to Mary’s arrest in 2025, which also prompted further investigation that uncovered video footage. It revealed disturbing details about her fight club, where she can be seen gathering multiple students and cheering them up after instructing them to hit a helpless child.
A fight club that forces students to hit each other? That’s so sickening, and others were also involved
The video footage seemingly revealed a completely horrific scene of Mary as a ‘ringleader’ of her fight club. KAIT reported per the affidavit that the 51-year-old “instructed the child to sit on the floor while being surrounded on the outside of a circle by 18 other juvenile students and Dr. Morrison.” After surrounding him with several students, she instructed them to hit the innocent one with an “unknown object” once they placed their hands on the center.
If that wasn’t already disturbing, the director scolded the poor soul as well, right when another student was kicking him, as per Mary’s wish. The affidavit also mentions Morrison cheering up the juvenile with a ‘high five,’ which shows her approval of everything. The outlet says that this horrifying incident lasted for about 30 minutes. While child abuse and neglect cases seem to have dropped over the last decade, such stories continue to make us speechless once in a while.
Following a disturbing case involving a Texas teacher who branded a teen ‘one of her favorites,’ this is another case that has shaken us. After this horrifying scene, Mary asked the poor victim to apologize to everyone; such details keep making this case horrific. It looks like she wasn’t the only one, as three other people who were working there were also taken into custody because they were linked to the incident, including Kristin Bell, 36; Michael Bean, 38; and a teacher, Kathrine Lipscomb, 45.
For her deeds, Mary was punished with 9 years of probation, 30 days in jail, and 120 days of house arrest. She’s gone from the institute for good, as no more innocent children will be forced to suffer from her bizarre fight club.
