As promised, Alan Wake will return next year with the newly announced “Alan Wake: American Nightmare”. The upcoming title for XBLA will pit the novelist against a new enemy called Mr. Scratch. From the trailer which was originally broadcast at the Spike Video Game Awards, the gameplay in American Nightmare looks to be very similar to the original Alan Wake offering.

Alan Wake will once again be the star of the show, with his new journey taking him from Bright Falls and into another creepy remote town. The reveal did not included specifics regarding the date of the release, whether or not it would be released on other platforms, or if we’d get to wave our hands around with Kinect functionality, but the title has been announced as a very ambitious XBLA title.
