Fallout 4 Far Harbor adds a massive new island to explore, but it isn’t just sitting off the coast of Boston. Instead, it is way up north, near Maine. Getting there requires you to start and complete some specific missions, but what do you do once you are there? How do you get back to the Commonwealth, without riding that stupid boat again?
Luckily, you can always fast travel, but it isn’t completely obvious how to do it just by playing through Fallout 4. So, here’s our quick guide on how to fast travel to and from Far Harbor in Fallout 4’s first big expansion.
This is one of those things that is actually pretty easy once you notice it, but many players could play for hours without seeing it. You do not need to go to the docks and get on the boat every time you want to travel between Far Harbor and the Commonwealth.
Instead, just pull up your Pip-Boy and head to the Map section. If you are in the Commonwealth and have already visited Far Harbor, go all the way to the top-right of the map. Here you will see a symbol that has some wavy, water lines on it. This is Far Harbor, and choosing it will take you right to the main town.
If you’re looking to do the opposite, fast travel from Far Harbor to the Commonwealth, then just look off the coast of the actual town of Far Harbor. This is all the way on the east, and a bit to the north, though it’s closer to the middle of the coast. Here you should see some tall buildings, choosing these will take you back to the Commonwealth, dropping you off at the Coastal Cottage.
