Battlefield 3 Patch on PS3 Arrives with long awaited fixes

DICE has finally released the long awaited patch for Battlefield 3 on PlayStation 3 that fixes the VOIP problems that have persisted since launch. Weighing in at only 11MB the lightweight fix should be a quick download for most. PS3 users are confirming that the patch is alleviating the long standing communication issues.

Aside from the communication fixes, PlayStation 3 players will also find that the USAS-12 Shotgun has been balanced, as well as a retooling of the M-COM Defender/Attack Ribbon, making it easier to get post patch.

While some fans are definitely starting to get annoyed by the rebalancing and "nerfing" of equipment in the game, one thing that everyone can applaud DICE on, is the communication fix that is a vital component of any online experience.

The update will automatically download and apply upon signing on to the PSN and starting Battlefield 3.

It is rumored that DICE will reveal an upcoming DLC pack for Battlefield 3 this week at an Electronic Arts in event in New York.

Update: Today's Patch addressed VOIP concerns only, other fixes coming in later patch.

Woot! its only been four months. Great job for DICE, I wonder if Xbox had this problem? Then again, no, I don’t wonder if they had this problem. They never have any problems with their games like PS3. Owning and playing online games is like being a second class citizen. You always get the content late, and in this case it as unplayable for about 1/3 of a year.

being an owner of all 3 consoles, yes its true the xbox dont suffer like the ps3 with the problems we have.
Seems if a company throws money at the devs then of course the game is gonna work fine on that console, but the problem is that Sony do not see the ps3 as a product they want to put their might behind it.

USAS-12 was not fixed for PS3 today, confirmed on twitter.

but its fixed now.
