CM Punk Got Paid Handsomely For WWE 2K15

CM Punk recently finally spoke out about this WWE departure earlier this year. He has commented that he got paid handsomely for his inclusion in WWE 2K15.

In his two hour confession on Colt Cabana’s podcast, CM Punk told everything that happened after January 27th when he left the WWE. There was a period of time where WWE were withholding his royalty check payments. CM Punk described it as a “lifetime of money” to some people. WWE were doing this mainly because they felt he was in “breach of his contract”.

This meant CM Punk would not have been paid for his inclusion in the WWE 2K15 and more. You have may known the story already that CM Punk got a vicious lawyer to dispute this and WWE finally gave in to his demands.

Both CM Punk and WWE made a settlement that allowed him to get his royalty payments. He even said it was kind of dumb (at the time) for 2K to advertise him in the game since he is no longer a part of the company.

He ended the statement about WWE 2K15 and 2K by saying “thanks for the big fat check”. It’s safe to say he got a huge amount of money to be a part of this year’s game.

It’s interesting how CM Punk got paid a lot of money to be in WWE 2K15. Mick Foley made a protest not to be in the game as he felt he got paid too low to be in WWE 2K14. Although CM Punk’s situation is different than any other wrestler.

It’s also safe to assume that WWE 2K15 is the last time CM Punk will be in a WWE video game officially. The chances of him appearing in WWE 2K16 and above are very slim. He has no desire to work with WWE ever again in his life. Not to mention he admitted he got fired from the company on his wedding day in June. Not a nice way to exit the company…

You can listen to the whole podcast below. His small comments about WWE 2K15 start at the 1 hour 42 minute mark.
