First Party PlayStation 4 Games in Development

The first reports have surfaced that Sony is already working on the first games for the anticipated PlayStation 4.  Develop Online suggests that "several" projects have begun at Sony first party studios and are likely still in the concept development state.  It's hard to imagine that these projects are much more than pipe dreams at this point, considering that it's unclear what the tech in the phantom console will be capable of.

What isn't a surprise is that they would be starting to work on these upcoming consoles.  With a recently rumored 2013 release window for the next Xbox, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that Sony won't let Microsoft beat them to the punch in the next generation.

When will we hear more about these new systems?  Probably when they begin production in China, and are leaked by an underpaid factory worker.

LOL, leaked by an underpaid factory worker. That’s how we heard about the PS3 slim, and had pictures to prove it.

PS4 better not let xbox come out first this time. Screw anyone that doesn’t agree with me. Xbox is a festering pile of crap and is only where it is today because online is so important this generation, for the first time. Xbox beat PS3 by an entire year. That’s a lot of friends who have to buy what their friends have.

that and the $200 better price tag made it gain traction fast.

      Cool dude

Actually, its very easy to just put out a price cut. But the thing is that its hard to develop technology that is high performing and cheap.

Well I know your bashing Xbox, but I do have to agree, Microsoft going all in with online features right off the bat and PSN slowing developing to something great is why Xbox became so popular. They’ll both probably be on fairly equal ground come next generation for online features, so it should be interesting.

I just hope they release at the same time, it will make choosing a system a lot easier.

I would kill myself if PSN and Xbox Live had the same features. I won’t pay crap that is available for free anyway. Lol

If it weren’t for the current Live features and connection advantages. I would definitely switch to PSN.

@Allen. You can’t really blame MS for making good decisions. And stop with your fanboyism. It just disturbs me so much. Everyone knows that you think Xbox 360 is a pile of overpriced crap. I think very differently but you don’t have to say it every single time.

@allen. Its called a smart move for any console to come out before any other. Ow and how many people (100) <sarcasm. Went out and bought a ps3 when it first came out? Wasn't it like around $700 dollers. I didn't get 1 till the price dropped to around $300. Yes i own both and love them both. And both never failed on me because i take good care of my stuff.

Does anyone even notice that these systems won’t even be out for another guessitmated 2 years which means the Ps3 (7ATT) and 360 (8ATT) it’s time for a new piece of technology for console users I jsut got a PC and am blown away by the graphics. But stop whining that it is to early they’re still gonna develop for last gen. Tech advances every 18 months and with that comes more powerful tech if you don’t want the 720 or Ps4 don’t buy it cuz I promise they are gonna still develop for them (:

i wonder if next gen consoles will have hybrid ssd hard drives? that would speed up the console alot especially if you installed games to it.

I think this story has been misleading. It is actually quoted that they’re working on concepts, not the actual development of PS4 games. So don’t get too excited people. There is so much work needed to be done on the hardware for PlayStation 4 that no developer can actually DEVELOP a title for a console they don’t have hardware for. PS4 website http://playstation4.net reported that the Cell chip 2 is in development which I think is expected. PS4 may not be out until 2016 at the latest, with 2015 being a better date I belive. Anything earlier is a bad move on Sony’s behalf.
