Injustice: Gods Among Us featured an interesting twist on the usual lineup of good and bad guys as the Superman led Regime were portrayed as the villains. Following the events of that game and the five years since, the upcoming Injustice 2 picks up and has seen a number of factions rise including The Society that is the focus in the latest trailer for the game.
NetherRealm Studios has been releasing a number of trailers for Injustice 2 over the last few months, with the Shattered Alliances series being of the story driven variety. We’ve had three of these previously and now Shattered Alliances Part 4 has arrived.
After the fall of Superman’s Regime, a new group of villains has arisen known as The Society, which is essentially a variation of the Legion of Doom. Not only are the good guys having to worry about Brainiac in this game, but also this band of villains that seem to have taken over.
The trailer shows Gorilla Grodd as the leader of the bunch, which also features Scarecrow, Captain Cold, Poison Ivy, Deadshot, Catwoman, Cheetah, and Bane. With that large portion of the roster being in The Society, there is no doubt they play a major role in the game.
Interestingly enough, we even see Batman and Superman seemingly working together in the game, though we’ll see how The Society’s rise leads to that. It’ll also be interesting to see if any other characters end up joining The Society or if perhaps any of them will turn good at some point.
