The Japanese PlayStation Store has revealed the file sizes for the PS4 and PS3 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The game is now available for pre-order on the PS4 and PS3 on the Japanese PlayStation Store. The file sizes are not as big as other games out there.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on PS4 has a file size of only 25.1GB. As for the PS3 version, this is lower as it will only be 11.7GB. These sizes are quite lower than what I was expecting them to be.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is open-world and is literally the biggest game in the entire series. I would have expected the PS4 file size would have been close to 50GB.

Other PS4 open-world games have larger file sizes that are close to the 50GB mark. These games included the likes of Grand Theft Auto V, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight just to name a few.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be the last game in the series under the guidance of Hideo Kojima. Konami plans to release newer games, although they might feel different without Kojima being involved.
